The Glory of Pastors

Proverbs 25:2-3
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable."
When the pastor of a congregation of God's people stands before them, he stands as a king, ordained by God to reveal the Lord's purpose. The intent of the Lord is that there be a man of God who has searched the concealed things of God in His Word so that the people may understand and reply, "Yes, we see and now know what God has for us."
But, since Peter says that we are all kings and priests unto God, then why has God chosen this method of revealing His will to us. Couldn't we all just search out the Scriptures and find out for ourselves what He has hidden? Yes, and often this is the case, but it is also the case that God has given us a godly man who is committed to serving the Lord ... who daily searches the hidden things of God ... and, upon whom the Spirit of the Lord rests; this is the one who will stand before the whole congregation and declare, "thus says the Lord!" In so doing, the whole congregation can say with one voice, "Amen! As the Lord has shown us, so will we do."
For this reason, the congregation of God is called "a body of believers." There is first the Head, who is Jesus Christ and then there is the pastor who is under the Lord; there are men of God who are elders; and, then, there is the rest of the body which functions for the glory of God.
Therefore, it is the glory of the pastor (king or elder) to search out the unsearchable riches of the Word of God; to find the hidden things of God; and to declare these hidden things. Just as John the revelator was shown the hidden things and wrote the Revelation of Jesus Christ (this was his glory), so the pastor's glory is to be shown and to show. And, for this reason, he is worth his weight in gold ... the one in whom God has chosen for this day and hour to show us all that our God reigns and is sovereign.
And, all the people said, "Amen!?
